February? Already!
Wow! Time is flying by!
I've been looking at my "to do" list I made at the start of the year to make sure I'm on track. So far I'm doing pretty well.
I've made my hair appointment for the wedding day, looked at potential hair styles for me and my bridesmaids, I met Sarah from Blue Door Bakery and spoke extensively about cupcakes, emailed my friends about "Hen and the City" and booked our flights from San Francisco to Oahu!
Well today I crossed off two more things from my list.
First of all I registered our gift list with John Lewis, we don't have to decide on what we want yet but at least it's all set up ready for us to zap our way around the shop!
Has: "What does this do?"
Laura: "I have no idea? Lets get it!"
Zap!
Also today I sent off our deposit to Sarah at Blue Door Bakery to confirm our booking for our yummy wedding cupcake tower!
This is the tower we saw at the wedding fayre at Stone Manor Hotel. Ours will look really similar but with a giant cupcake on top!
I want to try and make the chalkboard placecards this month too, I now have all the things I need after buying 4 more packs of wooden hearts from Hobbycraft this weekend, so there's nothing really stopping me!
Last night Has found the flights for Honolulu to Anchorage, Anchorage to Seattle and Seattle to New York so we should be able to get those booked up soon too! Full steam ahead!

Gift List, Wish List
I received the John Lewis newsletter yesterday and I found these beauties. I do hope these will be around when we go to John Lewis to zap our gift list!

Now, I don't drink a lot of wine but if I had these I certainly would!

Ok so I don't know how we will decorate our home when we move but I love this cushion. I could design a whole room around this cushion!

When we do finally get our own place I intend to do quite a bit of baking. I love making cakes and cookies. I might not be any good at it, but practise makes perfect!

Where as I like to bake, Has likes to cook. His speciality is pasta dishes. He makes fantastic meatballs! I think we would get loads of use out of big serving bowls. We have one already, which is part of a pasta set, but I know we'll use them regularly.

Ho Ho Ho!
Yes I know I'm early and Christmas isn't for another 58 sleeps but I can't help myself! Christmas is the best time of year!!
I love the build up and excitement of Christmas. The baking, decorating, watching classic Christmas films, (credit card, you got it!) wrapping up presents whilst listening to cheesy Christmas songs, eating mince pies and drinking hot chocolate! I am aware my idea of Christmas sounds like it came straight out of Hollywood, but it really is how I see Christmas! I can't get enough of it!
Another thing I love about this time of year is John Lewis. Every year I spend a small fortune on new decorations for when Has and I eventually move in to our own home (We currently live with Has' parents but are looking to rent somewhere next summer.) I've been collecting Christmas decorations for the last 4 years! Forget pots, pans and dishes at least we have a 2 foot ceramic snowman!
Last year Hayley got a job at John Lewisand her discount is finally kicking in next week. I went to visit her at work this weekend and walked round the shop saying "Oh can you put me one of those aside, I sooo need one of those!" Hayley's reserve shelf now looks like a mini Santa's Grotto!
I have been saying for a while that when we set up our wedding gift list at John Lewis I'm going to add a few Christmas items. People think I'm joking! But in all honesty I would absolutely love a Christmas dinner set. I have to confess to already owning a few Christmas themed serving plates and dishes, but I would love a matching dinner set!
I bought these place mats on Saturday. They were far too cute to pass by. Christmas is my weakness!
from here
The most exciting thing of all is next Christmas Has and I will be married and living in our own home! And let me tell you something, Chevy Chase ain't got nothing on me!
