Bridesmaid Gift

Sophie is probably the only bridesmaid who doesn't read this blog, as she's only 8 I'll let her off but it does mean, that I can post about her gifts without spoiling the surprise!

I've already got her a book; When I was a Bridesmaid and a necklace for her to wear on the wedding day.  I wanted to also buy her a bracelet and today I found the perfect one.

It's from Accessorize, made from dainty pearls and a sterling silver heart charm.  I hope she likes it!

Cyber Candy

Has and I had to get the bus into work this morning as my poor car (Bebe) is visiting the garage.  The stop for our bus is the other side of the town from my office so I rarely venture that way.  It was a blessing in disguise, we stepping off the bus to see a shop we had never seen before, in Birmingham at least.

Cyber Candy

If you've never visited or even heard about Cyber Candy, it's a shop that sells sweets, chocolates, drinks, biscuits and loads more from around the World.  In particular (for us!) American candy!

Hershey's Kisses, Milk Duds (my favourites!), Lucky Charms, Mountain Dew, Twinkies, Jolly Ranchers, Twizzlers to name but a few of the things we over dose on when we're in the USA.

Hayley's sister Kirsty bought us back some Hershey's Kisses on her recent trip to New York and now if we think we need any more, we have a store right on our door step!  Depending on the cost it would be nice to be able to have a few more American treats on our candy table.

I was also thinking I could pick up a few treats for our ushers. I think they will go really well with the American lager/beer idea.

I also happen to know that one of my bridesmaids has a bit of a thing for Fruit Loops....

Brooklyn Lager

Not sure how it happened but I had a brain wave!

Other than the gifts for the bridesmaids I haven't really thought about presents for anyone else... until today!  We have two ushers at our wedding, my brother Paul and our friend Tom. We'd like to get them a small token each to say thank you for their help and today it hit me!

New York Beer!

Brooklyn Lager to be exact!  It's a cute link back to the New York theme we have going, maybe we could stretch to Boston for a few bottles of Sam Adams?

I Love Chocolate

I've been having a mooch on the Thorntons website, I love Thorntons chocolates but didn't realise until today that they offer a wedding service.

Chocolate favours with the bride and grooms initials

Tiny cute favour boxes filled with 1, 2 or 4 delicious Thorntons Chocolates

They also sell the matching stationery so you can tie everything together.  There are loads of different options available and if you already (like me) have sourced your favour boxes but are wondering what to fill them with... how about Thorntons Continental Viennese Truffles, Champagne Truffle Hearts or even Continental Diplomat (my favourite!)?

If someone has been extra helpful and you want to spoil them why not say thank you with one of Thorntons amazing I Love Chocolate gift boxes?
Maybe doing this post before lunch was a bad idea?  Now I'm hungry and craving chocolate!

Thank you flowers

Suzie bought me a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to say thank you.

I really love the tiny pinky purple flowers, they are so pretty.  They look really wild and natural, I think they'd work really well with the flowers for our wedding.  Problem is I have no idea what they are?!  Does anyone know?

Suzie's Surprise!

So on Friday I said I had a little surprise for Suzie...

I made up a little bag of honeymoon goodies!
I started to collect what I thought were essential items (yes Haribo is an essential!) for a honeymoon, including the super cute Goodworks bath products like "Good Riddance Body Scrub" and Good Looking Body Lotion so she can smell delicious!  I also bought a little hand fan so she can keep herself cool by the pool.  I found some gorgeous "Apple and Dots" hair bands from Baubles N Bows.  A bites and stings kit, antibacterial hand sanitiser and nail clippers, file and scissors!  Hopefully these little things will all come in handy!

I also gave her a little photo album they can keep their honeymoon snaps in.

Suzie isn't going on honeymoon for another few weeks yet, but I know she'll be getting organised about now, hopefully my little pack will help her out a bit!

Note: Photos are a bit rubbish because I took them minutes before rushing out the door on my way to Suzie's  and I only had my little camera with me!

Vintage Love

Lately I've been spending a lot of time on Vintage Amethyst, a totally gorgeous online shop that sells beautiful decorative items for your home and really sweet gift ideas.

At the moment I'm loving:

Everything is so reasonably priced, I would love to use the chalkboard tags as name places for our wedding, they would look so cute!
Not only would these pieces look amazing featured within a wedding, they'd make excellent wedding gifts too!

Sweet Dreams

I've mentioned it before but our family and friends were super generous when we got engaged.  We were given a lot of gift vouchers and it was my intention to keep them until we moved into our house together.  However, we desperately needed a new duvet.

I didn't realise how bad it was until I spent 4 weeks sleeping in my old bed with my nice fluffy duvet only to come back and sleep under our waffer thin sheet!

I used our Marks and Spencer voucher today to buy us a 13.5 tog dreamy duvet.  Oh it's so comfy!

Tonight should be interesting, I already have enough trouble with Has hogging the covers what's he going to be like now we have a dreamy duvet!?

Gift Box Surprise!

Do you remember when I said that Hayley was bad at surprises?  Well that doesn't just include surprises meant for her!

For about 3 weeks Hayley has been telling me about a present she has got me.  I wasn't suppose to have it until the 5th November but Hayley brought it with her last Friday night.

Seeing as we're both rubbish at waiting, we decided as Hayley wasn't going to be with me on the 5th, it was only fair to open it then!

Look at the amazing box of goodies!

For Has, a Bridezilla Voodoo Doll! - the message read "To Has, If Laura turns into a Bridezilla you can give her a poke!"

2 Shot glasses on hot pink necklaces - with the tag "For all your hen doo dreams (or nghtmares!)" lol

A photo album, with the tag "You'll have lots of wedding day albums and photos, so this is just for all the wedding things that come before!"
Inside the message read "A little book of memories just for you, to count down the days 'till you say I do!  The preparation, the laughs, the tears and of course the hen doo, can all be kept in here to be shared forever by the both of you. x"

Hayley also put in a gorgeous pink feather boa (!) and plastic willy straws!  Ever since I asked Hayley to be bridesmaid she's threathened me with plastic willy straws! I'm sure I'll find a way to get her back!

She also put in this card

Cute!  Thank you Hayley!  Love you loads xxx

Laura has found...

Etsy

I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing!  I've already made my first purchase (I only registered yesterday!)

Etsy is where clever people sell their amazingly beautiful handmade goodies, and people like me buy them! eBay is soooo last week!

Unfortunately and frustratingly I can't tell you what I've brought!  Too many Bridesmaids read this! ;)

Here are a few of my favourite Etsy things at the moment.

Bird Clutch Purse from the Print Tree Shop. Alice in Wonderland Paper Cut Quote from Mr Yen.
Little red Christmas hearts Framed picture from Sarah and Bendrix. And They Lived Happily Ever After Sign from The Back Porch Shoppe.  Fancy a Brew? Tea Towel from Mr PS Shop

Surprises, Secrets and Keeping Schtum!

I love giving presents, but I'm terrible with keeping a secret. I'm usually like this:

"Oh I'm excited! I've brought you something, but I can't tell you what it is!"

Both Suzie and Hayley are rubbish with surprises too. Hayley is always asking me what happens in Lost and is constantly reading the spoilers. Suzie is just as bad and made me tell her the ending to the new Harry Potter film.

So with my inability to keep schtum and their impatience for surprises I wonder whether their Bridesmaid presents will in fact be a surprise?!

This weekend I have decided on a big project for my Bridesmaids and I've told both of them about it without actually telling them what it is. As you can imagine they have tried their very best to get it out of me!

To help me with my secret keeping I've decided I can share what I have brought Sophie, my youngest Bridesmaid, as she won't read the Blog.

This is a really cute book that Sophie can fill in.  It has spaces for her to add her own pictures and comments about her experience as a Bridesmaid.  It also has little pockets on the inside pages where she can collect things from the day like confetti, table gems or her name place.  I going to get her a little camera to go with it and probably a few extras.

P.S. Suzie, Hayley... give up now!  You'll never get it out of me! x
